One of the area’s top state park attractions, Eden State Park, hosts a historic home and fun fact was the scene of the horror film Frogs set in 1972 starring Sam Elliott.

The focal point of the park, the Wesley House, was preserved, maintaining the original yellow heart pine siding, floors and interior molding, including 95% of its original glass pocket windows and is not to be missed. Home tours are available Thursday through Monday.

30A Axe Throwing is a super fun hangout with not only axe throwing, but pool, darts, pong, foosball, cornhole and a craft beer and wine bar.

North of 98 Restaurants and Shopping

Breakfast & Brunch: Don Pedro’s offers a full menu but many don’t realize their great breakfast options make it a popular local hangout early mornings. Fast service and a great staff make it a local go to for book club groups, bible studies and gentlemen wearing suspenders solving the world’s problems over coffee.

Lunch: 98 BBQ offers great barbecue, of course, but has an award-winning gumbo on their menu that’s not to be missed. Their praline bread pudding is an unexpected surprise to find on a BBQ joint’s menu, but finding Michele and her boys there sharing it is not unexpected at all since it’s their favorite go to right around the corner mom didn’t feel like cooking dining spot.

Supper and Snacks: Bayou Bill’s offers a wealth of seafood options along with a live glass blower entertaining young and old alike most evenings. A long-time popular favorite, there is usually a wait if you are not there early. For faster service, try sitting at the bar.

Ready for Retail Therapy? Literally. The name of the store is Retail Therapy. Set up in a bazaar style configuration, browsing booth after booth of local artists, fun knick-knacks, art, jewelry and more is a fun way to enjoy a rainy day or a sunny one when you want a break from the beach. Silver Sands Premium Outlets is a short drive away with Off Saks, Tory Burch, Kate Spade and more, but definitely stop along Grand Boulevard for more great shopping including Lululemon, Peter Milar, Anthropologie.
